Obituary for Dennis George Phelps Sr.

Dennis George  Phelps Sr.
Dennis George Phelps, Sr. age 66 of Center Point, Arkansas passed away, Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Nashville. He was born August 27, 1949 in Chicago, Ill. To the late George Ralph and Alice Stephanie Krzyminsky Phelps. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser in Dierks. Dennis was a Methodist, loved coin collecting, working in his garden, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Dennis’s family, especially his grandchildren was his life. He was an avid Cub’s and Blackhawk fan. He was a Past Master of Pleasant Valley Masonic Lodge # 30 in Nashville. He also was awarded the Marked Master Mason Honorary Degree, which very few have ever received, also a member of The Knights Templar. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
Preceding him in death other than his parents was several of his siblings.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his best friend and love of his life, his wife; Linda Jones Phelps of Center Point.
3 daughters; Tracy and husband Todd Kesterson of Dierks, Tammy Watlington of Hope, Twila and husband Michael Curry of Nashville,
1 son; Dennis Phelps, Jr. and wife Echo of Center Point
1 sister; Vyvan Lucas of McComb, Ill.
Brother-in-laws; Eddie Jones, Mackie Jones, Jackie Jones, and David Jones.
6 Grandchildren; Andrew Billings and wife Madison, Alex Curry, Katherine Craig, Austin Billings, Brittany Craig, and Sadie Phelps.
3 Step- Grandchildren; Tyler Kesterson, Melanie Kesterson and Sidney Kesterson.
1 Future Great Granddaughter; Layla Grace Billings.
A large host of other family and friends.
Service will be Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 2 pm at Nashville Funeral Home with J.W. Gilbert and Calvin Parker officiating. Interment will follow with Masonic and Military Rites in Center Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday night from 6 to 8 pm at Nashville Funeral Home.
